Chisinau, 21 May /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today invited to the Presidency the family of taxi driver Alexandru Usatii, who died in a tragic traffic accident in the centre of Moldova’s capital on the night of 16 to 17 May, the presidential press service has reported.

The family must return more loans, including the one borrowed to buy the taxi, which provided them income.
The Moldovan president provided the Usatii family with a financial support to pay the debts and ruled to launch a fundraising campaign for buying a dwelling in the native settlement, Stauceni village. Igor Dodon asks people with possibilities to join this initiative and help this family which is put to a tough test.
At the same time, the head of state gave assurances that he would do his utmost, so that the person guilty of this tragedy be called to account. The president stressed the need to severely toughen the sanctions for the drivers who infringe the speed limit and the road traffic rules, which trigger serious accidents, including resulting in deaths.
