National Accession Program of Moldova to EU 2025-2029 approved by Government
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the National Accession Program of Moldova to the EU for 2025 - 2029, which will prepare the country for EU integration through a complex process of aligning national legislation and institutions with European standards.
"Our country's strategic objective is to become EU members and to build our life according to the European model here, at home, in the Republic of Moldova," said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
The program includes sections dedicated to the 33 accession chapters covering all essential areas - from fundamental rights and economy to environmental protection and digitalization.
The implementation of the document will contribute to improving the quality of life for citizens - through more efficient public services, functional justice, quality education and healthcare, modern infrastructure, and a cleaner environment. At the same time, the business environment will benefit from increased access to the European market, and for the effective implementation of reforms, better cooperation between public authorities will be ensured.
The coordination of the Program implementation will be ensured by the State Chancellery, through the Bureau for European Integration. The results will be set out in a consolidated annual report, presented to the Government and Parliament by 25 February of the year following the reporting year.
The program will be updated annually, starting in October, by integrating recommendations and benchmarks established in the European Commission's annual progress report, as well as other commitments taken during the negotiations for Moldova's accession to the European Union.
