Three employees of the General Inspectorate of Carabiners (IGC) will participate, as of October 20, 2026, till April 20, 2027, in the international peacekeeping mission in Kosovo, as part of the Multinational Peacekeeping Force (KFOR).

The official deployment ceremony took place at the headquarters of the General Inspectorate of Carabiners, in the presence of Interior Minister Daniella Misail-Nichitin, IGC General Commander Brigadier General Dumitru Scurtu, Ambassador of Italy to Moldova Giuseppe Maria Perricone, as well as other officials and guests.

In her address to the servicemen, Minister Daniela Misail-Nichitin emphasized the role of professionalism and discipline in fulfilling their commitments.

“Moldova is part of the free world and contributes, alongside its partners, to maintaining international peace and stability. By participating in this mission, our carabiners represent the country with professionalism and responsibility and carry forward the experience accumulated by previous contingents. Thank you for taking on this mission and for the way you represent Moldova,” said Daniella Misail-Nichitin.

A notable moment of the ceremony was the handover of Moldova’s State Flag, a symbol of national identity, honor and the commitment to serve the country with devotion.

The sixth contingent consists of Captain Rașid Djafarov, the delegation leader, Captain Ion Zaharia, and Third-Class Sergeant Gabriel Balan.

Their participation in the KFOR mission reaffirms Moldova’s commitment to contributing to international efforts to maintain peace and security, as well as to developing professional cooperation with foreign partners.
