Speaker in Austria: meetings with diaspora and developing educational cooperation

Speaker Igor Grosu began his official visit to Austria with a meeting with Moldovans residing in Vienna. The discussions focused on the current situation in the Republic of Moldova, the country’s development priorities, European path and the steps taken towards accession to the European Union, as well as justice reforms and efforts to make the system fairer and more credible.

“It was an open and sincere discussion that reconfirmed to me how united and strong our community is. I was glad to see well-integrated people, appreciated here, who contribute through their work to the development of both Austria and the Republic of Moldova. Our Moldovans, regardless of distance, remain connected to everything that happens at home and believe in a better future for Moldova,” noted Grosu.

During the Speaker’s official visit to Austria, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences and the Center of Excellence in Viticulture and Winemaking of the Republic of Moldova. The document represents a concrete step toward bringing professionals from the sector in both countries closer together, facilitating the exchange of experience and promoting winemaking traditions.

Grosu together with the President of the National Council of Austria, Walter Rosenkranz, visited the city of Krems an der Donau, the hometown of the Austrian Speaker. At the Agricultural Vocational School and IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences, the officials met several young Moldovans who are studying there and building their future. “We aim to develop this collaboration with the university in order to continue strengthening the skills of our young people and prepare them as well as possible for the labor market,” emphasized Grosu.

Grosu is paying an official visit to Austria at the invitation of his counterpart, the President of the National Council of the Republic of Austria, Walter Rosenkranz.
