Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu today met Polish Ambassador to Moldova Tomasz Kobzdej. The officials discussed the projects through which Poland supports our country's development, the economic partnership and the support for Moldova's European path.

“Poland is a strategic ally in Moldova's European path, in strengthening resilience and modernizing the economy. Having been a member of the European Union for over 20 years, it exemplifies how European integration can positively transform a country,” highlighted Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu in discussions.

The PM appreciated the transfer of expertise in the EU accession process, as well as the assistance provided through the Polish Aid Programme and the Polish Solidarity Fund. Over the past 15 years, Poland has financed 264 projects worth 15 million euros, with aid tripling in the last 2.5 years. The most extensive projects target resilience, border security and socioeconomic development (EU4Resilient Moldova, EU4Border Security, support for SMEs, etc.).

The officials also discussed trade and economic relations, increasing exports of Moldovan products to Poland and attracting more Polish investments into the country economy. Poland ranks eighth among Moldova's trading partners, being the largest importer of Moldovan juices (32 per cent of exports) and the third-largest importer of Moldovan wines in the EU.

At the same time, 88 companies with Polish capital operate in Moldova: investments total approximately 12.8 million euros, placing Poland among the top 13 investors. The prime minister emphasized that Moldova was interested in attracting Polish investments in renewable energy, high-performance agriculture, and infrastructure.
