Alegeri parlamentare 2025

CEC completes vote counting process

The Central Electoral Commission /CEC/ has completed the vote counting process. The Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) wins the elections with 50.20%.

The parliamentary election results, after processing all the reports, show that PAS obtained 50.20% of the votes, the Patriotic Bloc 24.17%, the "Alternative" Bloc 7.96%, Our Party 6.20%, and PPDA 5.62%. 1.6 million citizens turned out to vote, representing over 52% of the electorate.

CEC President Angelica Caraman emphasized that the information is preliminary until the Commission receives the original electoral documents.

"Electoral constituency councils have 48 hours after the polling stations close to present the report on the election results in the constituency. Subsequently, the CEC will centralize the voting results. The report and the national voting result record are presented to the Constitutional Court," stated Angelica Caraman.

Within 10 days of receiving these documents, but no earlier than the final resolution of complaints by electoral bodies and courts according to established procedures, the Constitutional Court confirms or invalidates the legality of the election. Simultaneously, the Court validates the mandates of the elected deputies and confirms the lists of substitute candidates through a resolution.

The Constitution of the Republic of Moldova states that the Parliament consists of 101 deputies, elected by universal, equal, direct, secret, and freely expressed vote for a four-year term. Only electoral competitors who surpass the threshold - 5% for parties, 7% for blocs, and 2% for independents - are eligible for the distribution of the 101 mandates. These are allocated according to the d'Hondt method, which involves dividing the votes received by a series of natural numbers, with mandates assigned based on the highest results.
