Romanian Prime Minister congratulates Moldovan citizens for mobilization in parliamentary elections

Romanian Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan conveyed congratulations to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova for their massive participation in the parliamentary elections held on Sunday, highlighting that the election outcome confirms a firm choice in favor of the European path.

The official emphasized the role of the authorities in Chisinau, who, according to him, organized the electoral process "exemplarily," managing to withstand "a complex of pressures intended to divert the people's will."

"In the end, as it happens in true democracies, the people's vote is what made the difference. Moldova's place is in the great European family. Congratulations, Republic of Moldova!" declared Ilie Bolojan.

The Romanian Prime Minister reiterated Bucharest's constant support for Chisinau, specifying that Romania will remain alongside the Republic of Moldova on the path to European integration.

On Sunday, September 28, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova elected deputies for the future Parliament. According to CEC data, 1,596,530 voters participated, which is about 52% of the total citizens registered on electoral lists.

Preliminary results of the parliamentary elections, after processing 99.78 percent of the reports, show that PAS obtained 50.14% of the votes, Patriotic Bloc - 24.20%, Alternative Bloc - 7.97%, Our Party - 6.21%, PPDA - 5.62%.
