Alegeri parlamentare 2025

Preliminary results: MPs likely to be in future Parliament

The preliminary results of the parliamentary elections on September 28 indicate that five political groups will enter the future Parliament — two electoral blocs and three political parties, with the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) holding the majority.

According to the Central Electoral Commission's data, after processing 99.78% of the reports, PAS obtained 50.14% of the votes, Patriotic Bloc – 24.20%, Alternative Bloc – 7.97%, Our Party – 6.21%, PPDA – 5.62%.

Preliminary calculations made by Radio Free Europe and alegeri.md website show that PAS will be represented in the future Parliament by 55 deputies.

At the same time, the Patriotic Bloc of Communists, Socialists, Future of Moldova, and Heart of Moldova will have 26 parliamentary seats.

Eight other deputies will represent Alternative Bloc. Our Party will have six seats, and the Home Democracy Party enters Parliament with six seats.

On Sunday, September 28, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova elected the deputies for the future Parliament. According to CEC data, 1,596,530 voters showed up at the polls, which is about 52% of the total citizens on the electoral lists.

The Constitution of the Republic of Moldova provides that the Parliament is composed of 101 deputies, elected through universal, equal, direct, secret, and freely expressed votes, for a four-year term. Only electoral contenders who exceed the threshold – 5% for parties, 7% for blocs and 2% for independents – are eligible for the distribution of the 101 seats. These are allocated according to the d'Hondt method, which involves dividing the votes obtained by a series of natural numbers, with mandates assigned based on the largest results.
