Wine of Moldova conquers Chinese market: network of 400 stores, skyscraper promotion campaigns in Shanghai, Shenzhen

The prospects for expanding exports of Moldovan wine to the Chinese market and promoting the image of Moldova through wine products have been were discussed in Shanghai by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi, who met official distributors of Moldovan wines.

Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popsoi praised the efforts to promote the “Wine of Moldova” brand in China, emphasizing that the positive trend in exports shows the quality of Moldovan products.

Company’s representatives noted that over 2 million bottles of wine from a local producer had been sold on the Chinese market, with the brand becoming one of the best-known Moldovan wines in China. Distributors highlighted the growing interest of Chinese consumers in wines of Moldova. The company has developed a national distribution network with more than 400 offline points of sale, including shopping centers, specialized stores and the HoReCa sector, while the wines are also promoted on major online platforms in China.

The sides also discussed challenges in the export process, as well as opportunities for expanding economic and trade cooperation, underlining the importance of collaboration between Moldovan producers and Chinese partners in harnessing the opportunities provided by the Asian market.

At the same time, the company is currently running a promotional campaign for the local brand in Shanghai, Chengdu and Shenzhen, by broadcasting images and video spots on landmark buildings. The six‑month campaign aims to strengthen the visibility of Moldovan wines and position them in the premium segment of the Chinese market.
