Deputy Prime Minister: Moldova and Ukraine united by strong friendship and clear goal - peace, stability, development
Moldova and Ukraine are united by a strong friendship, common challenges and a clear goal: peace, stability and development. This message was conveyed today by Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi, following a meeting with Paun Rohovei, ambassador of Ukraine to Moldova.
The meeting took place at a symbolic moment, marking three years since the start of the Russian Federation's war of aggression against Ukraine.
“Throughout this time, Ukraine has shown courage, resilience, and determination in defending its sovereignty, and the Republic of Moldova will continue to stand with the Ukrainian people. Moldova and Ukraine are united by a strong friendship, common challenges, and a clear goal: peace, stability, and development. I am convinced that through constant dialogue and close cooperation, we will continue to strengthen the partnership between our countries for the benefit of our citizens,” Popșoi said.
Paun Rohovei presented copies of his letters of accreditation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova.
“I wish the Ambassador much success in his new mission in Chișinău,” Popșoi highlighted.
The two officials reviewed the current status and future prospects of the bilateral relations between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of strengthening political-diplomatic dialogue and sectoral cooperation.
On February 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine, in an escalation of the conflict that began in 2014. The invasion, the largest conflict in Europe since World War II, has resulted in hundreds of thousands of military and civilian casualties in Ukraine.
