CEC: 23 candidates registered for mayoral race in new local elections
The Central Electoral Commission /CEC/ announces that in the context of organizing the new local elections on 18 May 2025, the local constituency electoral councils have registered 23 candidates for mayor and seven lists of candidates for local councilor.
According to the CEC, out of the 23 candidates for mayor, three are women and 20 are men. Nine are running as independents, while 14 are nominated by political parties.
For the position of local councilor in the village of Temeleuți, Florești district, seven lists of candidates have been registered, representing as many political formations. In total, the lists include 56 individuals, of which 28 are women and 28 are men.
On 18 May 2025, new local elections will be held for the position of mayor in the commune of Călugăr, Fălești district, the commune of Chiperceni, Orhei district, the village of Talmaza, Ștefan Vodă district, the commune of Boldurești, Nisporeni district, and the village of Tabani, Briceni district, as well as elections for a new composition of the local council in Temeleuți village, Florești district.
