Moldovan Speaker, Ambassador of India discussed economic and educational cooperation
The bilateral relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of India, as well as opportunities for expanding economic and academic cooperation, were discussed today during a meeting between Speaker Igor Grosu and Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Republic of Moldova, based in Bucharest, Manoj Kumar Mohapatra.
According to the Parliament’s Communication and Public Relations Department, the discussions focused on the evolution of Moldovan–Indian relations and on identifying new areas of collaboration. The officials examined possibilities for developing trade exchanges, attracting investments, and launching joint projects, including in the energy sector.
Another topic addressed during the meeting concerned cooperation in the field of education. The interlocutors noted the presence of Indian students studying at higher education institutions in the Republic of Moldova, highlighting the potential to strengthen academic and cultural cooperation between the two states.
"The Republic of Moldova aims to develop increasingly dynamic relations with the Republic of India, a country with a strong economy and an increasingly important role globally. We see real potential for cooperation in trade, investment, and the energy sector, and the presence of Indian students at our universities contributes to strengthening the ties between our societies," stated Grosu.
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of India were established on March 20, 1992.
