Moldovan parliament speaker to pay working visit to Brussels
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu will pay a working visit to Brussels on March 17-19.
According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, the agenda of the visit includes discussions with European Parliament President Roberta Metsola on supporting our country’s European path. The two speakers of parliament will participate, as speakers, in the high-level conference on the future of support for democracy, organized at the European Parliament by the Democracy Support and Election Coordination Group.
During the meeting with European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Marta Kos, Igor Grosu will address the priorities of Moldova in the process of accession to the European Union.
During the visit, the parliament speaker has scheduled meetings with Vice-President of the European Parliament Victor Negrescu, Co-Chair of the EU–Moldova Parliamentary Association Committee Siegfried Muresan, with the presidents of more parliamentary groups and Secretary-General of the European Parliament Alessandro Chiocchetti. Igor Grosu will also take part in the event organized on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the European People’s Party. The agenda of the visit also includes a discussion with journalists from Moldova accredited to the European Parliament.
In Brussels, the parliament speaker will also hold talks with President of the Chamber of Representatives of the Belgian Parliament, Peter De Roover, as well as with representatives of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and of the parliamentary friendship group with Moldova.
