Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to China presented copies of letters of credence at Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Beijing
Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the People’s Republic of China Petru Frunze presented on 5 March 2026 copies of his letters of credence to Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of China and Director-General of the Protocol Department of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hong Lei.
According to the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Beijing, during the meeting that preceded the official ceremony, Ambassador Petru Frunze expressed appreciation for China’s consistent support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, the diplomat reiterated Moldova’s position of supporting “one China” principle.
The discussions between the two officials highlighted their shared interest in strengthening and deepening Moldovan-Chinese bilateral relations. The Moldovan ambassador emphasized the importance of harnessing the cooperation potential and expressed openness to intensifying bilateral dialogue and developing joint projects in the economic, educational, cultural and tourism fields.
Attending the meeting on behalf of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova was Carolina Chirică, Second Secretary, and on the Chinese side, Mao Wenchong, Deputy Director-General of the Department of European and Central Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, as well as other representatives of the department.
Relations between the Republic of Moldova and the People’s Republic of China were established on 30 January 1992.
