BTA: Bulgaria Represented at ProWein International Wine Fair in Dusseldorf
Bulgaria is participating with a national stand at ProWein 2026, the world's largest international wine and spirits exhibition, which takes place in Dusseldorf from March 15 to 17. This is the third consecutive year where the country is represented at the wine fair, said the Agriculture and Food Ministry, which organized the participation.
The delegation is led by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Ivana Murdzheva. Twenty winemakers are participating at the Bulgarian stand, which this year covers an area of 200 square metres.
Featured are traditional wines from local grape varieties such as Mavrud, Rubin, Misket, Gamza, Dimyat, Tamyanka, and others. A special tasting area has been set up at the national stand, where visitors can familiarize themselves with the distinctive qualities of Bulgarian wine production.
During the stand’s opening, Deputy Minister Murdzheva met with Bulgarian producers and highlighted the need for a national marketing strategy to promote and advertise Bulgarian wines. She also emphasized the importance of developing a sustainable varietal structure with a focus on local varieties.
ProWein brings together producers from leading wine regions and provides a platform for professional meetings, the exchange of best practices, and the presentation of new trends in the sector.
