Foreign Ministry condemns airspace violation after discovery of drone fragments near Văleni
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns the violation of the airspace of the Republic of Moldova, after fragments of a “Gheran-2” type drone were identified outside the locality of Văleni, Cahul district.
In a statement, the institution describes the incident as a new violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova and states that it represents a serious risk to the security of citizens.
“This incident represents a new violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova and constitutes a serious risk to the security of our citizens,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared.
At the same time, the ministry condemns the Russian Federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine and emphasizes that its effects continue to affect regional security. The police announced today that multiple fragments of an unmanned aerial vehicle were discovered outside the village of Văleni, Cahul district.
Following a preliminary examination of the structural characteristics, materials used, and identified markings, specialists determined that the fragments came from a “Gheran-2” type drone. All items were collected for expert examination, and specialists from the Police Technical-Explosive Section are continuing investigations to establish all the circumstances of the case.
