Foreigners legally residing in Moldova to benefit from expanded access to social and financial inclusion mechanisms

Foreign nationals who are legally residing in the territory of the Republic of Moldova will benefit from facilitated access to social and financial inclusion mechanisms. The Government today approved the draft law amending several normative acts related to the integration of foreigners in our country.

Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail-Nichitin emphasized that the draft aims to adapt the regulatory framework to current realities and to the needs of foreign nationals who are legally present in the country.

“Through the proposed amendments, we are strengthening cooperation between the responsible institutions so that integration measures are better coordinated and tailored to the situation of each beneficiary,” the minister said.

An important element is the facilitation of financial inclusion for foreigners who hold a residence permit in the Republic of Moldova, by giving them the opportunity to become members of savings and loan associations.

“Beneficiaries of temporary protection will have broader access to employment, which will allow them to use their skills, integrate into the labor market and contribute to the country’s economic development. The draft also ensures faster access to legal assistance for foreigners in public custody and for applicants for stateless status, helping to protect their rights,” said Daniella Misail-Nichitin.

Through these amendments, the authorities aim to create a clearer and more tailored framework for managing the integration processes of foreign nationals who are legally residing in the territory of the Republic of Moldova.
