Luxembourg MPs visit Moldova for talks on European integration

A group of members of the Parliament of Luxembourg are paying a working visit to the Republic of Moldova on 7–10 June, with the agenda focused on strengthening bilateral relations and deepening cooperation in the context of the European integration process.

The Luxembourg delegation includes members of the Committee on Foreign and European Affairs, Cooperation, External Trade and the Greater Region, as well as members of the Defence Committee of the Chamber of Deputies.

During the visit, the officials will hold meetings with members of the Parliamentary Committee for European Integration, chaired by Deputy Speaker Doina Gherman. Discussions are also scheduled with members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, headed by MP Virgiliu Pîslariuc.

The agenda also includes meetings with Government’s Secretary of State Cristina Cerevate, as well as with Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Carolina Perebinos.

According to the Parliament’s Communication and Public Relations Department, the discussions will focus on the development of Moldova–Luxembourg relations and on the support provided to the Republic of Moldova in its European path. The officials will examine opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation in areas of common interest, including in the context of the reforms required for accession to the European Union.
