
Moldovan Democratic Party nominates Vladimir Plahotniuc as official candidate for premier office
Chisinau, 13 January /MOLDPRES/-The first deputy leader of the Democratic Party (PDM), Vladimir Plahotniuc is PDM’s official candidate for the position of prime minister. The announcement was made by PDM leader Marian Lupu after today’s meeting with President Nicolae Timofti.
According to Lupu, the decision was taken by PDM’s Political Bureau today. “The president shall decide until tomorrow whether he will sign the decree approving Vlad Plahotniuc as the candidate for the office of prime minister,” Lupu said.
Vladimir Plahotniuc held a speech in front of the protesters on the Square of the Opera and Ballet Theatre today, saying that “we succeeded to reach a stable majority in the parliament to back a pro-European government, able to bring peace, order, stability and welfare in our houses. We will no longer back a government masked behind pro-European slogans”.
