Moldovan head of state meets President of France in Paris
President Maia Sandu met President of France, Emmanuel Macron in Paris today.
‘’I discussed with President Emmanuel Macron about peace and security in Moldova and Europe, about our European path and the bilateral projects which bring concrete results for citizens. The sincere friendship between our countries helps us build a safer, more stable and more prosperous future,’’ Maia Sandu said.
According to the head of state, in difficult times, France stands by us—helping us to protect our peace, strengthen our security and get closer to the European Union.
‘’We share the vision of a united and strong Europe, where each country can freely decide its future. Moldova already contributes to this common effort through our commitment to peace and democracy and through solidarity with Ukraine,’’ Maia Sandu emphasized.
On March 10-11, President Maia Sandu is on a working visit to Paris, at an invitation by French President Emmanuel Macron. The agenda of the visit includes an official meeting with President Macron, discussing bilateral cooperation, France's support for Moldova's European path and security on the European continent.
The head of state will also meet representatives of the French National Assembly and Senate, the French Development Agency and UNESCO, aiming to deepen relations in economic, educational, and cultural fields. During the visit, Maia Sandu will participate in a Moldovan-French business forum, organized to stimulate partnerships between companies from the two states and to attract new investments in Moldova.
This is President Maia Sandu’s first visit to France this year. Last year, on March 7-8, Maia Sandu also paid a working visit to Paris, at an invitation of her French counterpart. At that time, the head of state said that France and President Macron, personally, were among the most steadfast supporters of Moldova, the country's security, economic development and its European path.
