Germany to second expert to office of Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration of Moldova
Germany will second an expert to the office of Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration of the Republic of Moldova. The draft on launching negotiations and approving the signing of the Agreement on technical cooperation for the secondment of the expert was approved today by the Government.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi said at the Government meeting that the Agreement regulates the secondment of a German expert as a senior public policy adviser to facilitate the Republic of Moldova’s accession to the European Union and to support regional policies within the office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration.
"The technical assistance provided by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany aims at strengthening the institutional capacity of the office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration in coordinating the European integration agenda, supporting the implementation of the reforms required to align with the EU acquis, and facilitating the transfer of expertise and best practices from an EU Member State," Popșoi explained.
The Agreement is concluded for a period of 12 months. It may be terminated upon completion of the activities of the seconded person, which is to be decided by the German side with six weeks’ prior notice. According to the explanatory note, the provisions of the Agreement through an exchange of notes do not entail additional costs for the Government of the Republic of Moldova.
