Moldovan PM has meeting with counterpart of Luxembourg

It is important to have partners who support us and who believe in the European future of Moldova, in a complicated regional context. Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu today made statements to this effect, who today had a meeting with his counterpart from Luxembourg, Luc Frieden.

Alexandru Munteanu emphasized that Moldova had reliable friends in Europe, and Luxembourg is one of them.

The officials discussed the next steps of Moldova on its path to joining the European Union, as well as investments and cooperation opportunities that can bring more development and jobs to the country.

“I appreciated Luxembourg’s constant support for Moldova’s European path and for the reforms we are implementing. In a complicated regional context, it is important to have partners who support us and who believe in the European future of Moldova,” stated Alexandru Munteanu.

Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu is leading the Moldovan delegation on a visit to Luxembourg, where today the second Moldova – European Union Intergovernmental Conference will take place. The event will mark the opening of accession negotiations on Cluster 1 – “Fundamental Values”, which underpins the entire process of preparing the country for European integration.
