Heavy traffic at Sculeni Border Crossing Point eased

UPDATE 14:25 / Heavy cross-border traffic at the Sculeni Border Customs Post has been eased. Traffic is taking place under normal conditions, with minimal border crossing times.

The Sculeni Border Crossing Point (BCP) is currently registering an increased flow of travelers and vehicles on the outbound direction from the Republic of Moldova.

According to the Customs Service, the congestion is caused by the rise in the number of people and vehicles crossing the border, and the responsible institutions have implemented measures to streamline traffic.

Activity at the crossing point is being carried out at maximum capacity, with actions undertaken to reduce waiting times and manage the flow of cross-border traffic. In this context, travelers are urged to plan ahead and choose other border crossing points for exiting the Republic of Moldova, since the Sculeni BCP is one of the most in-demand crossing points on the Moldovan-Romanian border during periods of increased traffic.

As alternatives, the authorities recommend crossing the border through the Costești BCP, Leova BCP, or Cahul BCP. Officials have asked those involved in cross-border traffic to show understanding and have specified that they will provide updated information if the situation on the ground changes.
