Moldovan PM pays visit to Bucharest: meetings with Romania's president, prime minister, leadership of parliament
Prime Minister Vasile Tofan is paying a visit to Bucharest today, this being his first foreign visit since taking office. The agenda includes meetings with Romania’s interim Prime Minister, Ilie Bolojan, President Nicusor Dan and the leadership of the Romanian parliament.
The visit will begin with an official ceremony of welcoming by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan for Prime Minister of Moldova Vasile Tofan, at Victoria Palace. According to the schedule published by the government of Romania, the event is set for 12:00. It will be followed by one-on-one talks between the two officials. Afterwards, a plenary meeting of the delegations will take place.
The Moldovan government’s communication department said that the prime ministers would discuss strategic joint projects of common interest, which have a direct impact on citizens on both banks of the Prut, economic cooperation and security developments in the region.
Subsequently, Ilie Bolojan and Vasile Tofan will give press statements, scheduled for 13:15.
During his visit to Bucharest, Vasile Tofan will meet President of Romania Nicusor Dan. The Moldovan PM will also hold meetings with the leadership of the Romanian parliament and will have a discussion session with representatives of the Club of Bessarabian Businesspeople, focused on stimulating investments and supporting the business environment.
This is Prime Minister Vasile Tofan’s first foreign visit since taking office.
The government led by Vasile Tofan took the oath of office a week ago, on July 22, on the basis of a vote of confidence given by the parliament on July 21.
