New simple motion submitted in Moldova's parliament
The MPs of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists (BCS) have submitted a simple motion against the policies of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development at a plenary meeting session of the parliament today.
BCS lawmaker Petru Burduja unveiled the document in the plenum. The MP said that the main arguments of the opposition were related to "a string of corruption scandals, non-transparent and dubious auctions, as well as the lack of adequate control over important strategic infrastructure projects for the country".
"We ask the Ministry to provide clear-cut information on the measures undertaken to solve the situation at the Railway and at Chisinau Airport, as well as to explain the reasons for the delays in the carrying out of key infrastructure projects," Burduja said.
The simple censure motion against the policies of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development was signed by 24 BCS lawmakers.
According to the legislation, the text of the simple motion must be submitted to the parliament speaker and within 14 days, it must be subjected to debates in the legislative body. The simple motion is subject to debate, accompanied by the opinion of the relevant standing committee. The opinion will be issued within a period of up to seven working days starting the date of the motion’s submission.
