President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu met with members of the Moldovan diaspora in Strasbourg earlier this week, before delivering a speech in the plenary session of the European Parliament.
The head of state said that meetings with Moldovans abroad are always filled with emotion and hope.
“I was delighted to meet with our community here and listen to their thoughts, their longing for home, and their belief in European Moldova,” said Maia Sandu.
During the discussions, citizens expressed the desire for their country to become free and prosperous, an integral part of the European Union, as well as the concern over the challenges that threaten this path.
“The future of Moldova depends on all of us and the choices we make together so that no one from outside decides in our place,” emphasized the head of state.
Maia Sandu will deliver a speech today in front of the European Parliament at a plenary session in Strasbourg. It will take place at 1:00 PM. The head of state will talk about new threats to European democracies and how Europe can protect the values and unity to the challenges.
A Resolution for Moldova is also expected to be adopted during the session.
