SIS announces ongoing actions with international partners to prevent and investigate security risks
The Intelligence and Security Service (SIS) of the Republic of Moldova confirms that a former high-ranking officer is under investigation for committing treason through the transmission of state secrets and announces that together with its international partners, it is conducting ongoing actions to prevent and investigate security risks threatening regional interests and stability.
SIS announces that following joint actions carried out by the Romanian Intelligence Service and in cooperation with partner institutions from the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and SIS, on 8 September 2025, prosecutors from the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) executed an arrest warrant for a 47-year-old suspect, a former high-ranking officer within SIS. He is under investigation for committing treason through the transmission of secret state information.
SIS reaffirms its commitment to closely monitor risks to national security and to constantly act jointly with its partners for the protection of national and regional security.
