40 scholarships for Angel Kanchev University branch of Ruse at Taraclia

Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun announced today in Taraclia the offer of 40 scholarships for young people who wish to study at the branch of Angel Kanchev University of Ruse (Bulgaria), which was officially inaugurated this spring.

'I am glad to be here today in Taraclia and to congratulate you on this wonderful event. I thank the teachers who have motivated young people to continue their studies here. I propose you view this moment as a new stage in the development of education,' the minister said.

According to Dan Perciun, this year, 200 young people will study at the Taraclia branch, compared to only 40 in the previous year.

Angel Kanchev University of Ruse has eight faculties and offers five specializations in Taraclia, including: agricultural engineering, business and administration, IT, and pedagogy. Currently, 20 teachers from Taraclia and Chisinau, along with another 30 from Ruse, teach courses at the institution. In the future, a third department in business might be opened.

The Minister of Education also announced a modernization plan for the university dormitories, for which a budget of one million euros will be allocated.

Angel Kanchev University branch was officially established on April 2, 2025, and the inauguration took place on April 24, 2025. It is the first Bulgarian higher education institution to open a branch outside the country's borders.

Bulgarian Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov welcomed the educational partnership, emphasizing that 'this modern university, where studies are conducted according to European standards, will prepare future specialists, politicians, and opinion leaders who will promote the true values of democracy.'

Recean called upon young people from the south of the country, as well as from the Bolgrad and Ismail districts of Ukraine, to apply to this educational institution. 'It is an opportunity for professional training in a multicultural and European environment,' the prime minister stressed.
