Updated Hydrological Warning in Moldova: red, orange, yellow alerts for low water levels in most small rivers

The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has issued a hydrological warning valid from July 29 to August 4, 2025.

According to hydrologists, low water levels persist in most small rivers, with flows below the multiannual monthly averages. “This means Red Alert: water flow ≤ 15 per cent; Orange Alert: flow ≤ 30 per cent; Yellow Alert: flow ≤ 50 per cent,” said SHS.

Authorities recommend that the residents and businesses use water resources wisely, in order to prevent critical situations on this period of hydrological drought.
