
Access to Chisinau International Airport to be restricted as of today
Chisinau, Aug. 1 /MOLDPRES/- As of today, access to Chisinau International Airport will be strictly for its employees and for people participating in cross-border traffic. In this sense, separate corridors will be established for entering and exiting the airport.
According to the Border Police, entry to the airport will be allowed only on presentation of the ticket and the travel document, the control of which will be carried out by representatives of the airport administration. After the procedure, the passenger will continue with the route registration, later he will present himself for the control of travel documents and the security one, followed by waiting for the ride in the sterile room.
Thus, the first security control filter will be at the entrance to the airport, where the border police will ensure the scanned control of hand luggage and suitcases. Citizens are urged to come to the airport in time to complete all procedures.
Maintaining order in the airport is the responsibility of Border Police employees, canine crews specialized in detecting prohibited and explosive substances will also be trained. At the same time, the flow of passengers entering the country and the one registered on the exit will not interact, the waiting room being delimited in this sense.
Parking in front of the airport will also be prohibited. This will be allowed only in specially arranged places, where access will be ensured by additional control and verification of cars. At the same time, law enforcement crews will patrol daily in the vicinity of the airport and will intervene with the necessary support to ensure security.
During the current month of July, more than 20 bomb alerts were announced at the Chisinau International Airport. After the checks, no explosive objects were found.
