Moldovan president, Hungarian PM have phone conversation
President Maia Sandu today had a phone conversation with Hungary’s Prime Minister Péter Magyar. The two officials discussed bilateral relations, including economic ties, Moldova’s European path and regional security.
The head of state reaffirmed Moldova’s interest in developing the strategic partnership with Hungary, initiated in 2020. They also discussed opportunities to expand trade and investment.
As for the accession to the European Union, the Moldovan President thanked Hungary for its support for the country’s European path and reiterated her commitment to reforms, state modernization and alignment with European standards.
The discussion also covered the security situation in the region, which has been affected by Russia’s war against Ukraine. The sides agreed to continue the high-level dialogue.
