Artificial intelligence, new learning methods analyzed at UPSHIFT regional workshop
Modern teaching methods and the use of artificial intelligence in education have been discussed at the regional UPSHIFT workshop, organized by the Central European Initiative (CEI), in partnership with United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), an event which brought together experts and representatives of authorities from member states.
The discussions focused on ways to integrate innovative learning methods into educational systems, on the application of the UPSHIFT model in schools, and on the combination of classical and digital learning (blended learning).
The participants analyzed examples from Italy and Bosnia & Herzegovina, where the UPSHIFT programme has been successfully adapted for the school environment through extensive teacher training programmes and the active involvement of civil society organizations and public authorities.
At the same time, data and studies were presented showing that innovation can be taught, and participation in the UPSHIFT programme supports the development of life skills, enhances employment opportunities and contributes to the social integration of young people.
An important highlight of the event was the role of artificial intelligence in the educational process, with the UPSHIFT GEM tool presented, an AI-based model that helps teachers personalize lessons and apply the UPSHIFT methodology more efficiently.
