Additional measures taken to supply diesel on market in Moldova
The government has already taken measures to ensure the supply of diesel fuel on the market. In the last 24 hours, two barges loaded with approximately 6,000 tons of fuel have entered Moldova.
In addition, for today the arrival of a new shipment is expected, with a similar capacity of about 6,000 tons of diesel. These additional volumes are meant to immediately reduce the current shortage at some filling stations.
The government continues to closely monitor the situation and will adopt, if necessary, additional measures to ensure the stable supply of fuel to the country.
In the context, we note that, on July 27, 53 filling stations, representing less than 10 per cent of the total 590 stations, did not have diesel stocks. Thirty-eight of them belong to the Lukoil network. By comparison, at the peak of the crisis in the spring of 2026, recorded on March 26, 182 stations had no available stocks.
Among the causes of the shortage, there are the low water levels on the Danube, as well as the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, which have triggered bottlenecks in transport chains, affecting fuel deliveries.
