Border guards, customs officers participate in Operation Shield II
Chisinau, 26 February /MOLDPRES/- On 15 February -15 March 2021, mobile teams of Border Police are involved in Operation Shield II. The exercise is conducted jointly with the mobile teams of the Customs Service and coordinated by EUBAM representatives.
According to the Border Police, the operation aims to enhance operational capacity on customs and border control, to increase efficiency in combating cross-border crime and to exchange experiences and best practices.
Thus, the first actions in the Operation took place at the southern border of the country. In this regard, several vehicles have been stopped in cross-border traffic. At the same time, the drivers who practice passenger car transport were inspected.
During the operation, EUBAM specialists monitor the actions of the mobile teams, including observation and control procedures in various situations, to finally come up with a set of recommendations to improve the joint activities of PF and SV.
