Last week, the General Inspectorate of Border Police received a donation of equipment worth about 700 thousand US dollars, under the Export Control and Related Border Security Program, funded by the Government of the United States of America.
During the donation event, State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Diana Salcuțan said that the equipment represents not only material support but also the expression of a strong strategic partnership between the Republic of Moldova and the United States, based on common values and the goal of strengthening regional and international security.
The head of the General Inspectorate of Border Police, Ruslan Galușca, mentioned that the equipment will contribute to increasing the institution's capacity to respond quickly and efficiently to modern threats, while also enhancing the level of operational readiness and commitment to citizen safety.
During the ceremony, the Border Police expressed gratitude to the US Government for the constant support and awarded honors to partners who contributed to the development of bilateral cooperation.
The EXBS program, funded by the U.S. Government supports partner countries in strengthening border security capabilities and preventing illicit trafficking. The Republic of Moldova has benefited from support through this program for several years, contributing to the modernization of law enforcement institutions and increasing national resilience.
