Divers of Moldova's General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations to have new equipment
Chisinau, 27 January /MOLDPRES/ - The rescuers of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) will benefit from new equipment for divers within the implementation of the project on the consolidation of divers’ service.
According to IGSU, decision-makers purchased seven sets of diving suits and breathing apparatus for the fulfillment of underwater missions. The procurement was possible following the implementation of the project on consolidation of the IGSU divers’ service. This was made proceeding from a request expressed by the Inspectorate for the International Development Cooperation Agency RoAid of Romania.
The equipment bought within the project is to reach the departments of emergency situations from Orhei and Soroca and rescuers from subdivisions will intervene in rescue operations in water basins of the region. At the same time, based on the project, divers will benefit from training, in order to acquire abilities of identification, recognizing, extraction and rescue of victims from water, as well as to operationalize in two rescuers’ units the service of divers for the fulfillment of rescue missions.
