DOC // Youth Capital program with increased budgets and new rules published in Official Journal
The new governmental program Youth Capital was published today in the Official Journal of the Republic of Moldova. The initiative comes with an updated regulation, increased budgets, and transparent selection mechanisms, providing local communities across the country with the resources needed to become attractive hubs for the new generation.
The main objective of the program is to support local projects, develop youth-friendly services, and finance community initiatives by offering non-reimbursable grants. The new legislative amendments are intended to transform this title from an honorary one into a real instrument for economic and social development at the regional level.
A key novelty of the published program is the introduction of clear and measurable evaluation criteria. This approach will increase the transparency of the locality selection process and will allow rigorous monitoring of how public funds are spent. At the same time, the program facilitates the exchange of best practices between cities and villages in the country, encouraging cooperation to address common problems faced by young people.
In addition, the new provisions create the necessary conditions for attracting external and private investments. Beyond financing cultural or educational activities, the program now also allows investments in youth-oriented infrastructure, strengthening the capacity of local authorities to implement effective policies. Through these measures, the Government aims to create a youth-friendly environment in all regions of the country, reducing the exodus of young people to the capital or abroad.
