Moldovan General Police Inspectorate says leadership of Chisinau's Botanica Police Inspectorate, employees targeted in corruption case suspended from duties
The leadership of Chisinau’s Botanica Police Inspectorate and the employees targeted in a corruption case have been suspended from their duties for the duration of the ongoing investigation.
The General Police Inspectorate (IGP) made statements to this effect today morning.
“In order to ensure an objective and impartial conduct of the investigation, the IGP’s leadership ordered the suspension from office of the management of the Botanica Police Inspectorate, as well as of the people involved in the case,” the institution said.
More employees of capital’s Botanica Police Inspectorate are targeted in a corruption case. The IGP’s Internal Inspection Directorate, together with the National Anticorruption Center, carried out searches at the police inspectorate on April 21 evening.
During the actions undertaken, prohibited items were also seized, which are to be subjected to expert examination. The criminal investigation is ongoing, and possible disciplinary violations by the persons involved are also being examined.
