Moldovan State University to launch triple-degree master’s programme, in partnership with Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, Bucharest University

The Moldova State University (USM) will launch a triple-degree master’s programme, in partnership with Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and the Bucharest University. USM Rector Otilia Dandara has made statements to this effect in an interview given with MOLDPRES.

Thus, students of the Faculty of Law will have the opportunity to get a triple degree upon graduation: from USM, from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, and from the Bucharest University.

Otilia Dandara emphasized that the new master’s programme would focus on issues of international law, aiming at the study of European law in the context of the need to train specialists as the European integration process advances.

“We are going to launch a master’s programme in a triple partnership, hence, with a triple degree: Sorbonne University, the Bucharest University and the Moldova State University, focusing on international law, with the goal of studying European law from the perspective of the need to train our staff for our legal system, given that we are in the process of accession to the European Union and need to be prepared to draft and align various normative acts,” said Otilia Dandara.

The USM rector specified that admission to the new master’s programme could be organized as early as this year.

“We are currently at the stage where it is possible to launch admissions this year. So, we are quite advanced. We have signed a partnership agreement. The problem was to clarify certain financial aspects, such as who will provide the scholarships and how state-funded places will operate,” underlined Otilia Dandara.

In 2025, the Moldova State University and Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University launched a joint double-degree bachelor’s programme specializing in law. It is taught entirely in French; the studies last four years, and upon completion graduates will receive two internationally recognized diplomas: a bachelor’s degree in law from the Moldova State University and a bachelor’s degree in French and European law awarded by Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University.
