
EcoContact organization of Moldova launches second round of small grants programme
The organization EcoContact, with the support of Sweden, is launching the second round of the Small Grants Programme for media, titled, Community Journalism for a Healthy Environment and Green Justice.
This initiative is part of the project, Green Justice for a Protected Environment and Sustainable Communities of Moldova, and aims to strengthen the role of the media in informing and involvement of public in environmental issues.
"National and local media service providers are eligible for funding, including: radio and television stations, print media, online portals and independent producers, provided that they ensure the dissemination of materials and are registered as legal entities in Moldova. The selected institutions must operate in at least one of the project's target districts: Balti, Cahul, Edinet, Hancesti, Falesti, Ialoveni, Stefan Voda, Causeni, Rascani, Calarasi or Anenii Noi," EcoContact said.
Project proposals may include journalistic investigations, reports, interviews and news, talk shows and public debates, as well as environmental education campaigns, multimedia content for social networks.
The maximum value of a grant is 190,000 lei, for an implementation period of up to nine months. Projects must be completed no later than May 2026, and each proposal must include a personal contribution of at least ten per cent of the total budget.
Applications should be submitted in PDF format, in Romanian, to the address grant@ecocontact.md, by August 18, 2025.

This opportunity contributes to the development of environmental journalism and the promotion of citizens' rights to a healthy environment, while also strengthening the ecological justice mechanisms in Moldova, EcoContact added.
