Better roads in southern region: Moldova Roads III Project continues
The timeline for using funds within the Moldova Roads III project will be extended till December 2028. The government has approved the ratification of the agreement on amendment to the financing contract with the European Investment Bank.
This will allow for the completion of the construction and rehabilitation works on two important national road sections in southern Moldova - the M3 road, bypassing the city of Cimislia, and the R34 road, the Cantemir - Cahul segment.
‘’We have reached a record in road construction and will continue this effort. The good news is that we also have financial support on behalf of the European Union for our infrastructure projects. This support covers both national and regional roads, and in the coming period, we will extend investments to modernize local roads,’’ said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
The Moldova Roads III project has a strategic role in regional mobility. It will improve transportation among the southern districts of the country and strengthen the connection to the national network of roads. Moreover, it will enhance road safety and support local economic development.
