Energy Community confirmed support for Moldova
Chisinau, April 8 /MOLDPRES/- The Energy Community will continue to support the Republic of Moldova. The statement was made at yesterday's meeting between Minister of Environment Iordanca-Rodica Iordanov and Dirk Buschle, Deputy Director of the Energy Community Secretariat.
"The Republic of Moldova relies a lot on the support of the Energy Community to be able to face the challenges in this sector. The adaptation of renewable energy legislation and the transition to the green economy is an imminent necessity. "Greening the economy" is a new growth factor for the Republic of Moldova, a generator of decent jobs and an essential strategy for eradicating poverty. This process can turn many challenges into economic opportunities and prevent negative effects on the environment", said Iordanca-Rodica Iordanov.
For his part, Dirk Buschle appreciated the close cooperation and openness of the Ministry of Environment with the Energy Community Secretariat, noting that in the next period the parties will continue their efforts to achieve the planned results. At the same time, he assured that the Energy Community will continue to provide the necessary technical and institutional support for the implementation of environmental projects.
The Energy Community is an international organization founded in 2005. It brings together EU member countries and states such as Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia and Ukraine, aimed at creating a pan-European integrated energy market.
