
Four Moldovans arrested in healthcare corruption dossier
Chisinau, 10 April /MOLDPRES/ - Four people today were given arrest warrants from the Buiucani court for faking auctions in the medical system.
According to the National Anti-Corruption Centre (CNA), the persons arrested are: the director of the Cardiology Institute (25 days house arrest), director of the Oncology Institute (30 days house arrest), director of the Municipal Clinical Emergency Hospital (25 days in custody) and director of a unit of the Health Ministry (25 days house arrest).
At the same time, five of the detained in the same file are currently hospitalised. These are: the director of the Cahul Hospital, a businessman, director of the Republican Diagnostic Centre, first deputy director of the Municipal Clinical Emergency Hospital and director of the Unit for Coordination, Implementation and Monitoring of the Project on Health System Restructuring (UCIMP).
A number of 16 people were detained by CNA in a corruption case on public procurement in the medical system on 8 April. Today, the detainees were escorted to the Buiucani court to decide on the issuance of arrest warrants on their names.
