Moldovan capital's city hall to buy 30 special vehicles to carry solid household waste
Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau city hall will purchase 30 special vehicles for the carriage of solid household waste. The municipal authorities signed a contract on procurement to this end today.
At the event, the Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, stressed that this project was of a quite great importance for the Moldovan capital, as it regards the waste management.
‘’The special vehicles will take over the waste sorted in dustbins. This initiative is quite important for the city hall, as the largest quantities of waste are produced in the capital, which should be accumulated, transported, sorted and processed. At the same time, we want to educate the society, to have a correct and sustainable approach,’’ Ceban noted.
The project has a value of about 70 billion lei (about 3.5 million euros). It is carried out with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, European Investment Bank and the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership Fund.
