Moldovan Evaluation Commission hears prosecutor

Prosecutor Liliana Partole from the Chisinau Municipal Prosecutor’s Office has been heard by Evaluation Panel A. The evaluation process is being carried out in connection with her previous activity at the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, where she had been seconded.

In the process of verifying ethical and financial integrity, the Commission collected information from multiple sources, including the National Integrity Authority, the State Tax Service, the General Inspectorate of Border Police, other public authorities, financial institutions and open sources. At the same time, the prosecutor was sent two rounds of written questions for clarification of certain aspects and for the submission of additional documents.

After analyzing the collected materials, the Evaluation Panel informed the prosecutor that there were certain aspects requiring further clarification during a public hearing. The prosecutor agreed to participate in the hearing, but requested that discussions regarding the first issue in the hearing notification take place at a closed session, in order to protect the privacy of third parties. The Panel approved this request.

In the public part of the hearing, the members of the panel addressed the issue of the prosecutor’s failure to declare a loan.

The evaluation report, including the Panel’s proposal on the outcome of the external evaluation, will be issued within 30 working days.
