Chisinau, 8 November /MOLDPRES/ - Officers of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA) have detained three intermediaries on a file concerning actions of claiming and receiving bribe for the issuance of anti-COVID vaccination certificates.

According to CNA, law-enforcers established that the three intermediaries, along with employees of public medical institutions from Moldova, would have organized the issuance of anti-COVID-19 vaccination certificates without a de facto immunization and with the introduction of data in a register of record of vaccination certificates.

The intermediaries were finding in their circles people willing to be vaccinated, whom they were sending to concerned medical employees. The latter were miming the immunization by destroying the anti-COVID-19 vaccines.  They were claiming between 4,000 and 6,000 lei for one certificate.

Anticorruption certificates made raids at three medical institutions, where more documents were raised and at suspects homes, where law enforcers raised the original vaccination certificates and sealed by physicians, original identity cards and financial means, the origin of which is to be established. The law-enforcers also frisked four beneficiaries of forged vaccination certificates.

Presently, more people are in CNA’s focus, including medical employees. The three intermediaries are prosecuted for influence peddling and run the risk of getting up to seven years of imprisonment or fine up to 200,000 lei.
