Moldovan national energy regulator analyzes market impact in Moldova of U.S. sanctions on Russian oil companies
The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) is analyzing the effects of sanctions imposed by the United States on two Russian oil companies, as well as their potential impact on the oil products market of Moldova.
In the context, ANRE's leadership invited representatives of the company Lukoil-Moldova today, on an urgent basis, in order to clarify aspects concerning the current organizational state of the company and the actions to be taken in the ongoing international context.
ANRE emphasized that it was closely monitoring international developments and would take measures to ensure the ongoing security of the state's supply with oils products.
“As the authority promoting the state's unified policy on the oil products market, ANRE is closely monitoring international developments and will undertake the full set of available measures, within legal competencies, to ensure ongoing predictability, stability and security of the state's supply with oil products,” said ANRE.
The United States Department of the Treasury on October 22 announced sanctions against major Russian oil companies Lukoil and Rosneft, in order to reduce Moscow's ability to finance its war effort in Ukraine.
