The fourth contingent of carabineers today detached in the KFOR international mission in Kosovo. The team, made up of three members, will honorably represent Moldova on the international stage of peace and security.
During the next six months, Moldovan carabinieri will be part of the Multinational Specialized Unit (MSU), alongside partners from NATO member states and the European Union. They will carry out complex missions: maintaining public order, ensuring freedom of movement, protecting communities and building trust in sensitive areas.
The official event was attended by Interior Minister Daniella Misail-Nichitin and the Italian Ambassador to Moldova Giuseppe Maria Perricone.
“The mission in which you will participate represents an exercise of responsibility and an expression of the trust the international community has in the capability and discipline of the carabineers of Moldova. I wish you to return home safely, with the pride of duty fulfilled and experiences that will inspire our entire institution,” declared Daniella Misail-Nichitin.
For his part, the chief of the contingent, Captain Alexandru Rozlovan, said that the tasks would be carried out with responsibility and professionalism.
“We will wear the uniform of carabineers with pride and will prove that Moldova actively contributes to the consolidation of international peace,” said Alexandru Rozlovan.
The participation of carabineers in international missions and operations represents an important contribution to maintaining international peace, security and stability, respecting fundamental rights and freedoms, as well as promoting the rule of law, in accordance with the UN Charter and the international commitments of Moldova.
