Real estate assets of MP Irina Lozovan seized; decision published in Official Journal of Moldova

The real estate properties registered in the name of MP Irina Lozovan, affiliated with Ilan Shor and criminally convicted for illegal funding of a political party, have been seized. The decision was taken by the director of the State Fiscal Service, Olga Golban, based on the notification of the Public Institution Real Estate Register and was published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) of Moldova today.

The measure targets two plots of land, seven buildings and one room, all located in the cities of Ocnita and Lipcani, registered in the name of Irina Lozovan. The measure was taken based on the decision of the Inter-institutional Supervisory Council from August 1, 2025, on the implementation of the European Union's restrictive measures and in accordance with Article 29 of the Law on the enforcement of international restrictive measures.

On July 15, 2025, Irina Lozovan, along with Alexandr Nesterovschi and Victoria Furtuna, was included on the sanctions list imposed by the European Union for 'destabilizing actions' in Moldova. These include asset freezing and a ban on entering the EU area.

On March 31, 2025, lawmaker Irina Lozovan was sentenced to six years in a closed-type penitentiary for the case in which she is accused of illegally funding a political party on behalf of an organized crime ring. Her husband, Pavel Girleanu, a district councilor in Ocnita, is also involved in the same case and was sentenced to five years in prison. Neither the MP nor her husband attended the court session to hear their sentences. The court ordered their search.

Public information has emerged that Irina Lozovan may have left the Transnistrian region and is hiding in the Russian Federation.
