CEC rejected application to register PDMM's candidate list for parliamentary elections
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today rejected the application to register the candidate list from the Modern Democratic Party of Moldova (PDMM).
The decision was made after the Public Services Agency (ASP) notified the CEC about the exclusion of the political formation from the list of parties eligible to participate in the parliamentary elections.
The actions occur in the context in which ASP received data and information from the competent state security authority about “the existence of potential subversive actions conducted through PDMM and coordinated by individuals subject to international restrictive measures.”
PDMM representatives deemed CEC's decision illegal. They also announced that they will challenge the Commission's refusal to register the party in the electoral race in court.
